Join Us
We are looking for volunteers who meet the following criteria:

Over 18 years old
-
Local to the South Snowdonia area
-
A keen mountaineer with your own basic mountain kit
-
Have experience in navigation*
-
Have experience in basic first aid and rope work*
-
Able to attend a minimum of 2 hours training per week, plus occasional weekends for additional training and fundraising events.

Have good availability for callouts, particularly mid-week daytime availability

Be a Supporter
There are many invaluable ways that our supporters help our mission:

Coordinating fundraising events
-
Attending fundraising events
-
Sourcing and/or providing supplies for fundraising events (e.g. refreshments or stock, for example, some keen knitters have provided knitted goods to help raise funds.)

Sourcing and/or providing supplies for the team, e.g. base supplies (e.g. loo roll, drinking water, cleaning supplies, tea and coffee, energy snacks for the team for prolonged call-outs)

Promotion - e.g. promoting fundraising events; raising awareness of the team generally (e.g. sharing team posts on social media)
-
Support from businesses - e.g. sponsorship or discounts on products or services.

Helping with work at our base, e.g. cleaning and maintenance.

Legacies
A gift in your will - a lifesaving legacy in the mountains.
Your special gift will keep our teams safe, ensure they are trained, have the kit and resources to respond when bad luck strikes for someone out on the mountains.
When you are ready to add us to your will, here are some examples of the words your solicitor may use.
Residuary gift
To leave a share of your estate. This type of gift is particularly valuable to a charity like SSSART as its value will increase in line with the value of your estate.
I give free of inheritance tax XX % of the residue of my estate both real and personal to South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team, Cae Adda Chape, Trawsfynydd, Blaenau Ffestiniog, LL41 4TS, registered charity number 1195803 (England and Wales) for their general purposes and the receipt of the proper officer of the charity shall be sufficient discharge for my Trustees.
Pecuniary gift or a specific item
If you would like to gift a specific sum of money or item.
