The Team

The South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team is one of seven teams covering the North Wales area, which is the busiest rescue network in England and Wales. We are a standalone charity and with no central funding we have to constantly fundraise to be able to keep operating our lifesaving service.

 

We are a small team, but we cover a large area of wild, rugged and beautiful terrain, from Blaenau Ffestiniog in the North to Barmouth and Dolgellau in the south and  Y Bala in the east.

 

Our team of around 40 dedicated and highly trained volunteers is on call 24/7/365 to help people and animals in need in our area - whether through injury, illness, or mishap. We train and respond to callouts all year round, in all conditions, whatever the Welsh weather throws at us.

 

We are an emergency service and we rely on support and donations from the public to be able to keep doing what we do.
