With your help, we are saving lives in Snowdonia

On call 24/7, 365 days of the year: whatever the weather

The South Snowdonia Search & Rescue Team (SSSART) is a registered charity that operates in the South of Snowdonia National Park in North-West Wales. We are a team of over 35 people from varied backgrounds who come together to assist North Wales Police in the event of a mountain emergency.

Rescue

Our volunteer team members rescue climbers from precipitous crags, reunite lost walkers with their pals and ensure injured casualties are safely delivered into vital hospital care.

Safety

We want you to have the best time, enjoying the outdoors, but we also want you to return home safe and sound. We have some useful tips before and during your adventure.

In an Emergency

In the event of accident first note any relevant details (location, name, gender and age of casualty, nature of injuries, number of people in the party, your mobile phone number).

• Dial 999 or 112, ask for ‘Police’, then ‘Mountain Rescue’.
• Give all your prepared details of the incident.
• Do NOT change your position until contacted by the rescue team.
• If you have to make a further 999 call, follow this procedure in full again.

Want to Help?

We are a volunteer‑run charity, relying entirely on the commitment of our unpaid team and the generosity of the public.
